Gulow Adolf Gulovsen (20.11.1860 i Mandal- 1924 i New York) var sønn av Knud Gulovsen (1827 i Mandal-) og Markilde Michalsen (1829 i Mandal-).
Gift med Ida Keshner (10.11.1864 i New York- 28.3.1950 i New York), datter av Christian Michael Kesner (1823 i New York- 28.7.1915 i Richmond, New York, USA) og Fanny Singelton. Barn: Ida Gulowsen (), Margurite Gulowsen (1892-),Freida M Gulowsen (1895-), Knute M Gulowsen (26.1.1899 i Huguenot Park, Staten Island, New York-).
Gulow A Gulowsen ble utdannet ved Horten tekniske skole 1878. Han emigrerte til Amerika 1888.
Gulowsen begynte sitt vitenskapelige arbeid i 1888 da han kom sammen med Frederic Winslow Taylor i Midvale Steel Company i Philadelphia. Han ble ansatt hos Carl G. Barth i Bethlehem Steel Company.
