Fregatten «Victor» var bygget i New Brunswick i 1849. Skipet var eid av N. Bugge i Tønsberg. Agent i Trondheim var Georg F. Krogh and skipsmegler var Thorvald M. Moe (1829 i Bakklandet-).
«Victor» dro fra Trondheim 25. april 1866 med 311 personer til Quebec. I 1867 dro den fra Trondhjem med 15. mai med 250 passasjerer, hovedsaklig fra Horg, Flaa, Byneset, og Leinstrand. Noen kom også fra Tynseth, Stjørdal og Tromsø.
My Heritage forteller:
The Victor was built at New Brunswick in 1849 by J. McLachlan. Her tonnage was 578 tons gross and 562 tons net. She had repairs in 1868. The Victor was owned by H. Thue 1855 - 1864 and by N. Bugge in Tønsberg 1864 - 1891.
In 1866 the Ship Victor departed from Trondheim Apr. 25th, and arrived at Quebec June 9th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 311 steerage passengers and 2 cabin passengers. 134 adult males, 85 adult females, 40 males 1 - 14 years, 34 females 1 - 14 years and 20 children under 1 year. The ship was reported to be very well equipped and was bringing 1000 barrels of water, provisions and medicine for 6 - 7 months. [!] The agent in Trondheim was Georg F. Krogh and ship broker Thorvald Moe. Tonnage reported was 271½ Norwegian Commercial lasts. She was mastered by Capt. Ole Jensen and had a crew of 16. In 1867 she departed from Trondheim on May 15th, and arrived at Quebec on July 20th. She was carrying 250 passengers, 114 adult males, 90 adult females, 59 boys under 14 years, and 33 girls under 14 years. Most of the emigrants came from Horg, Flaa, Bynesset, and Leinstrand. There were also some from Tønseth, Stjørdal and the Tromsø area. She was towed out the fjord by the S/S "Trondhjem", at midday May 15th. Before the ship departed there was a service by Rev. Roll on board, Such services were custom for many ship sailing with emigrants. This year Victor was mastered by Capt. P. A. Andersen of Tønsberg, and had a crew of 16.
