William N. D. Rohde
Nicolais Ditlef Wilhelm Rohde (16.10.1857 i Bergen - 28.7.1940 i Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois, USA) var sønn av skreddermester Engelbrecht Andreas Rohde (25.9.1819 i Bøhl i Schlesvig -) og Karen Christine Grønvold (1822-).
Gift med Marie Gunhilde Gullicksen (2.3.1866 i Holden - 28.12.1919 i Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois), datter av Gilbert Gullicksen (1841 i Solum -1893) og Karen Isaksdatter Skaufelt (20.7.1836 i Holden- 16.11.1926 i Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA).
Hennes bror Ole Gullicksen: (7.5.1867 i Porsgrunn -28.5.1948 i Chicago, Cook County, Illinois). Antakelig utvandret familien Gullicksen til USA.
Han begynte hos Sanford Ink Company i Chicago og arbeidet der i 55 år fra 1880. Han var på besøk i Norge i 1907.

Funeral services for William N. D. Rohde, 82 years old, a retired chemist, will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel at 318 North Central avenue, with burial in Forest Home cemetery. Mr. Rohde, a native of Bergen, Norway, once was chief chemist of the Sanford Manufacturing company, inks. He began with the company 56 years ago as an office boy. Mr. Rohde died Sunday at 536 North Humphery avenue,Oak Park in the home hehad occupied for the last 52 years. Surviving are his widow, Oline; a son, William H. Rohde and two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Pistor and Mrs. Ethel Oldfield.

Rohde, dear mother of Williams H., Mabel and Ethel, daughter of Mrs. Karen Gullicksen, sister of Ole Gullicksen, Chicago, and Mrs. Christine Nelson of Denver, Colo. Funeral from late residence, 536 N. Humphery-av., Oak Park, Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 2 p. m. Services at Sixth Congregational church, Cuyler-av, and Augusta-st., Oak Park,
William N. D. Rohde was a specialist in ink. His long and productive association with the Sanford Ink Company began in 1880. Becoming interested in the composition of his firm´s produkt, he began the study of chemistry. Thereafter he climbed rapidly until he became head of the chemistry department. In 1935 Rhode could look back on fiftyfive years of service, during which time 10.000.000 gallons of ink was produced by Sanford, most of it under his technical direction.
